Yea I got the north south part lol just wasn't sure top or under, I usually see better action under compared to above...seen some short hogs come from under too!
Yes the kids jumping is obnoxious Even though I understand when I was like that, I will still fish there though because the jumping is illegal (hence the sign right there) and if they don't want to move its their problem if they get hooked lol. Option B is to call the cops but you take the chance of them never showing but maybe if you told them there was like 20 kids they might show. I have no problem parking myself right there and pointing at the no jumping sign as I cast my lines out. They give you that weird look and then you pull the bait knife out and the look goes away quickly. :auto:

Kids being kids- let them have fun. As to the no jumping sign. Dont you :batman: fish when there is a legal signs of no fishing?(simple yes or no) The cops have better things to then hear you whining because you cant move a few feet over to catch grunts.

No. And don't bring up my recent post cuz that was not a legal sign.
I didn't see anyone mention grunts either though I agree it's not worth it that's why I said option B which prolly wouldn't work anyways. I just fish till they get tired of going around me and leave. There's also plenty of other no fishing bridges to jump off of so they can have fun all day long.

Either hopping a private fence or ignoring legally posted signs day or night. :rambo:

baseball4life702 wrote:Allowed to fish it for sure, the beach is public all the way north... but where u enter is the difference. For the first time fishing it park at the very beginning of bill baggs and walk north on the beach to see where u find good spots (there will be people on the beach during the day, kinda like fishing Miami beach not as many ppl though but no lifeguard )... My personal spots have another entrance that Im not 100% sure who owns it but have gone through there no problems, no getting kicked out but entering through BB is 100% legal my ninja fishing days are long over lol..If u want I'd be glad to go with you and show u whenever.
baseball4life702 wrote:Nice I noticed that fence last time I went to eat at Montys but couldn't tell if it was the whole park... I did go out today but was dodging storms all afternoon started first on the canal at like 173 and old cutler cuz that was the only dry place in the area, had no bites but a shrimp on my float rig got cut off clean without even a tip of the rod, God knows what it was but never got a bite after. Left there and headed north to Matheson to try an old spot, really wanted to get out to the end of snapper creek canal but it just wasn't a ninja fishing day. Ended up catching all the 9" grovers, grunts, and pinfish I could find nothing quilty keep able except one grunt for a lunch sandwich since I'm starving and feeling cheap today lmfao

I was unsure of the status of fishing at the end of snapper creek but from what I understand it's still allowed it just where you park, so no ninja fishing there if it's legal. And as for the past maybe I did once or twice haven't broken a rule in 10 years though so if you want to explore my past we can sit and talk. And I believe I was referring to key biscayne and yea I had a way to get into the condos that wasn't absolutely legal but I knew people that lived there and could had them let me in anyways.
Man that must have took about 30 minutes off your lifespan what a waste of time.

The answer to this question is still no though, my point of entry was illegal not where I was fishing. I admit to have ninja fished but your question was phrased wrong I have not violated no fishing signs only my way in which is worse in a legal sense. Missed that one Dr.

I grew up ninja fishing in the 1950's and 60's in Miami.

After a tourist riding in a convertible got her eye completely removed by a hook on the Rickenbacker Causeway in the 1960's, they soon closed fishing on all three Rickenbacker bridges and started constructing a single catwalk on the east side of the middle bridge over the Intercoastal. Then they posted no fishing signs on the other two bridges, and on the west side of the drawbridge. Strange as it seems all species of fish except mackerel seemed to learn quickly where to relocate, namely where fishing was now prohibited.

In other words, if you wanted to target snook, trout, snappers, big jacks, ladyfish, tarpon, and even bluefish, etc. you had to fish where it was illegal.

We (young teens on bicycles) fished these bridges mostly very late at night when traffic was almost non existent. The fishing was fantastic. Most of us eventually were ticketed after being warned countless times, but that seldom stopped us completely. Some of us even got "arrested", included me, (No charges filed).

Several if us became very educated on the conditions of the statues as it was written back then. We soon learned that the fish we caught, nor our tackle could be confiscated under the statue that prohibited fishing from the bridges. A couple in this group of young teenagers even went to court and pleaded "insanity" to the delight of the judge that let them off without even a fine. After a couple of years the cops on Key Biscayne started to get frustrated by our persistence and started giving out more tickets, but we never stopped fishing on those bridges.

i dont see any reason to fish the rick unless its between november and march....and even then...unless the macks or shrimp are running....or you want to load up on bait...there is no reason other than just being bored and wanting to smell piss and dead squid

I went last Sunday and got 2 about 15", but one guy next to me got like 6 decent ones. While a guy further down the bridge got a " dinomack" at around 4 lbs on his jigmaster. Not a bad day, but I'd wait for a real cold front

Nope...which I'm not that surprised. Lol....there has been dines in close and ppl are casting out on fish finder rigs, but it's either a mack or lizardfish..lolol...I would think the best bet is at night for blues tho. I actually snuck out that early morning and wet a line..caught both macks on small yozuri crystal minnows.

Jerry caught one in the keys on the last trip and think they might be already in the bay here since they were caught up north already. (I dont want bfish) The cold front should get things moving but more interested in the other bay stuff just not that time yet. Send a txt when you head up north

Not sure if you guys know about this tool, but here ya go. I have gotten a few mackerel south but I agree, they're still not there in force.
