I was out Sunday from 6 to noon. Saw some runners come over and a 4' nurse between the T and the 1st house. looked pretty quite to me but I'm still new at this. :cyclops:

:reeling: Fished Monday from about 2pm till 10. Eu de toilet water! Got my baits and headed out to the tee. Jumped one nice size tarpon coming around the northeast corner, 5 minutes of fun and then through the pier and some of the boy's got to watch him jump and head south. Looked like Chad, Justin and the boys were doing good on the macs by the center hut. The current changed three times while I was there. Good thing I had something :drunk: in the cooler cuz it was slow out there!

little bro fished overnight with a philipino friend
mangos were biting, eli caught 4 and a couple yellow tails
they also claim to have heard what sounded like a whales blow hole, and tail slapping on the water but it was too dark and far out to see
daytime baracudas, bait, and a nice yellow jack for supper :chef:
fishings only boring if you suck at catching fish

That is the Skunk Ape lurking around.

Manatee I'd bet....

From ----> http://www.thewildones.org/Animals/manatee.html

<<When manatees breathe, they change up to 90% of the air in their lungs. To do this, they exhale very hard when their nose breaks the surface, much like a whale or a person snorkeling will do.>>
Manatees will scare the hell out of you if they do they that huge exhalation right next to the sea wall where your fishing. Especially at night if you don't see them.

I jumped a foot the first time.

There was a pod of dolphin cruising around Port Everglades inlet Friday morning. First time in a while I have seen that many cruising around in the area.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Got to the pier at noon on Monday! Reliable sources reported seeing two monster yellowfin tuna herding the bait pod around in the A.M. Hung out for two hours waitng for the bait to return and it paid off around 3. Two good tarpon battles for myself, six others for three other guys freelining with me. Had to go to T&R for a re-spool on the 300 Van Staal. Kieth landed a nice king,Anton a bruiser spainish, and there was a nice mix of ceros, spainish and tarpon swipes till dark. Not a bad day for July. :reeling: :dude:

Ok everyone
Snapper bite has been good
Days have seen some really nice Yellowtails and with an occasional Mutton coming up in the afternoons, Cero Macks also.

So what was caught the last week
Mutton Snappers 4 to 7lbders
Yellowtails 1.5 to 2.5 lbders
Mangrove Limits if your fishing under the pier at night
Cero Macks pretty consistent everyday that I have been there
Bonita
Tarpon
Slob Snook Shhhhhhhh they will leave we have no snook
Whiting in the trough at night
Margates in the trough at night

Its funny but if you are there at the right time you get a good amount of fish isn't that so Englishfisher, Ah called you out

Yes there is a rumour of Tunas and no I did not see the giant Bonitas, but a good many did.

Zeb the best was that I was told tonight is that they were 100 lbders so I am a none believer as you.

The one who told me is the one who thinks he has a cobia on all the time.

:reeling: Fished this morning with my 12 year old daughter from 0430 -0830.
Nothing was happening, only excitement was a just legal mutton caught at the T by someone.
Water was clear with color, ESE winds +- 5-6 mph. Bait came in really thick just at sunrise, I had a few hard strikes on my X-Rapala fishing the edges of the bait school, lost my small glass minnow x-rapala to a hard bite.
Caught 2 blue runners, threw one back. My daughter caught quite a bit of bait on a #4 sabiki (red beads), and reeled :reeling: in 1 of the blue runners.
All in all, a fun but quiet morning.

Got to the pier at 2pm. Baited up for an hour or so.Lot of various snapper coming over the rails while I was there. A couple of nice size snook hooked up as well. Rshields hooked up a monster tarpon on his first bait couple of nice jumps and then I heard the hook hit the roof of the pavillion above me. Nothing for the next 5 hours, otta beer and last bait and boom, an 80lber on my last cast, lazy fish with a short fight and landed on 15 with a 60 leader. Time to move inshore for me, that was a long wait!

Was trying to make the "T" today but got caught up in work stuff. Permit is the word for me after Saturday... sticking with it another few days to see another poon run.
