Went out for a little while. Heard there was a big hammer cruising around before I got there. Water was nice and dirty with north/west wind blowing. Bait was ridiculously thick with some big Snook hanging around, but didn't see any caught. For the most part all that was caught were one decent cero, a few small cudas, big runners, and a big nurse. There should be a lot of grovers through out the night though.

Thanks for the report Rob. I was wondering waht the bite was like today with the difference in the weather from yesterday. Yesterday was calm, a litle rain weak n current and claer to the bottom. Cols and breezy. Looking forward to the change.

Hi, i have been part of this forum for about a year now! I have posted a couple of times, but haven't done it lately because i haven't gone fishing in broward. I am in a wheelchair, and dont want to waste my time going if its not going to be worth my trip. But, I see everyone is catching fish in big numbers at anglins. I am thinking of going there tomorrow night. And was wondering if that is a smart move. if so, what should i expect to catch and what do i use to catch that species of fish. I will be staying over night til the next morning. Someone please give me your $0.02 on this matter. thanks and hope to hear from you guys soon!!!!!!!!!

Bluefish should be in numbers so just a heavy bottom rig with cut bait, may be some snapper also and small sharks. Cut bait should be good for all, they may have fresh mullet.

Thanks, I knew that i would get a response quickly! In your opinion, what rig should i be using to catch the blues? Do you think the bite should be solid through out? Do you think the bait is going to be there during the night? Im sorry to be asking this many questions its that like i said earlier, im in a wheelchair and live in hialeah wouldn't want to waste my time headed up there. THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!

They will have cut bait in the Bait shop.
And once you find one, use the first blue for bait. Blues love blues.

Rig weight on main line then swivel with a min 50lb leader 2 foot and a 4/0 or bigger hook.
Lobe it out and wam

There should be a lot of blues around. If they aren't Hitting jigs/lures just throw a bottom bait.

I'll be out there tomorrow morning and all day Friday.

I got there around 1 with my friend Ben (bbegovic1). We wanted to try Anglins since Deerfield had hardly any mullet this morning.

Nothing was going on and then small pods started coming through of the big mullet, except no fish were chasing them, they were just moving through. So we made snag rigs to get bait. The next pod came through and Ben snagged a mullet, but bluefish were in this pod and Ben ended up snagging a bluefish in the side when it went for his mullet

After that we just waited for the pods. You could see them down the beach. About 7 came straight at the pier and a few were just past the end of the T, out of casting range.

A pod too deep:

Jigs, bucktails, whatever artificial we had. We could catch 1-2 blues on each pod before they passed since the pods were moving very quickly. Ended up with 8 bluefish (1 released) between the two of us and each we kept was bled and iced immediately.

Ben:

Decent day, had fun fishing the pre-mullet run. And for anyone that says bluefish are nasty, I just had mine, it was pretty good.

QUESTION. Where the heck are the finger mullet???
