8) This "is" the Bluefish run. We were catching them up near 5 lbs. in the AM. Some big Macks too.
Today was slower. Early bite.

Hit Anglins this morning and the phrase a day late and a dollar short was apt. Saw a few bluefish come in most on cut baits, a lot of small throwback pompano, some small ladyfish, a ton of 1 -2 lb jacks and a lot of huge lookdowns and moonfish. Saw a throw back kingfish and had some nice Spainish chasing lures but no takers. A good amount of mullet around just nothing busting them and around 9 when the tide started moving the mullet ran south. XTHELINE nailed a nice 20 inch mutton but not much else going on. Nice chatting with the rats and Wimberly but other than that slow day of catching.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Seas and wind calming lack of current . Best of luck if you go. If I were to go I would fish with cut mullet, ladyfish, or bluefish for muttons and mangroves but even they seemed to have moved out as the seas calmed. I don't see the fishng improving from today with the conditions calming for this weekend. You could get lucky and catch a straggling school of mullet though on the tides.

Went to anglins this morning got there bout 6:30 started throwing a half oz bucktail when it was still dark and got 2 macks and switched to the other side and they went crazy :nilly: ! :D Switched up my luree while my dad was trying to catch bait and just kept getting 9in pompano lol some guy caught one that was 13 inches !good for him :D started catching more and more mackeral then i put on a floating red and white yo zuri hooked up to a nice one and my drag was singing like crazy and finally just cut me off :( when the bite slowed down went looking for bait in the surf there was none there was a small pod of mullet that these guys were trying to cast net they got a few! SAW 2 BLUEFISH CAUGHT IN THE MORNING and a keeper mutton AND A NICE 5 pound mack some lady caught on a bottom rig and a piece of squid? But most of the time the bite was never slow just took brakes of like 10-20 min periods. I love anglins! :dude:

Was out there from 8-3 today. There were a few undersize mutton caught on spanish mackerel strips. But just like yesterday the macks were on fire, most were around the 13" mark but still fun none the less. As I was leaving one of the kids there hooked up to a King at the middle hut on a live mullet but it ended up cutting him off. Not too bad of a day

Only good thing about fishing yesterday was seeing the massive T-Head trail Keith's bait in. One of the coolest things i've ever seen. She was easily 13 feet. Came within 20 feet of the pier and made a quick turn around. WOW. That made my trip worth it.

Fished from 7-12. Fishing sucked. Couple short Mutts right when I get there on the T. Used cut mullet and didn't have a single run. Caught a Cuda on an Xrap. :biglaugh: Dink Macs were around the whole time I was there. Crappie jigs were the arti of choice.

Smallish schools of Mullet showed up around 11. Couple Tarpon in them, but no one hooked up.

I had a T-Head chase my bucktail jig in on the lightest rod I have.... I'm glad he did not eat it. Very cool to see about 7-8 feet T head.... by the hut too.

Hi everyone. I am looking for a few volunteers for an event that I am having on saturday 10/31 at Anglins. Tommy authorized the event and suggested that I post to the board to see if anyone can help out.

I will need 2-3 volunteers from about 10:30 to 12:30. I havent received all the RSVP yet but should have 15 to 20 kids, plus their parents. The kids are 4 to 7 yrs old and just learning to fish. Volunteers are needed to bait hooks, unhook fish, and use the bridge net to lift larger fish. Most of the parents will not want their fish, so you can likely keep some.

This will be our first pier fishing event but be have organized 5 previous events in freshwater. We are organized under http://www.kidsfishing.org. The club is not for profit but we do charge the parents money for the events because we give away rods, tackle boxes, tackle, bait, etc.

We arent the FWC. They run fishing clinics which introduce kids to fishing, handout rods, and send them on their way.

We run a KIDS FISHING CLUB.

And our average age is much lower than FWC attracts. Our kids are 4-7 mostly. Most did catch their very first fish with the club but continue to attend our monthly events so they can keep LEARNING. Our hope is that some of them grow up to enjoy this sport like you and I.

This shouldnt be a lame couple of hours for those that help out. You will feel great that helped a little kid catch their first saltwater fish. You will make a positive contribution to this sport. And you will have access to unwanted fish that are caught.
