Stupid daylight savings time change was just a kick in the nuts to us too, lets make 3 AM (the coldest part of the night) last for 2 hours...great idea.

It was slow picking but we did get a couple more keeper grovers bridge hoppin to the south of you! We called it earlier than normal but between the cold and having a solid place to stay and have a fish fry we called it a night early.. good meeting you guys and we will have to catch up and fish some time.

Haven't posted here in a long time, but my boy Herbert landed a Monster Bull!!!! Great job bud. That thing had a Huge Head. I wonder if it was the same Bull PP saw eat his small tipper earlier in the day? You guys were way to calm in that video. If we were out there with you, you would have had to edit the sound. F Bombs galore for sure. LOL. Congrats again!!!!!

Well we usually are calm except when it's a tourney. That's why I probably don't do the touney thing anymore. It takes away the real reason we love to fish. We fish because we love to fish. Great job guys. Props on a Big Bull. It's always a team effort too.strizile wrote:Herbert and the rest of us were in the zone. Great help from Rory on the last stretch and Herbert? Yeah the dude is way cool. He does the right thing. See what it does then relax and then let the gear help you.picua wrote: You guys were way to calm in that video. I learned a lot from just that one bull. I usually try to overpower and get exhausted but get them in nonetheless.
Herberts approach is way better and my future way of bringing it in.

Hey Bolo what's up man? It hasn't been a very productive year for me in terms of fishing. The Snook action was good on the West Coast during the summer while I was on vacation out there. Other than that nothing to bragg about. Take care.

Yeah Luis, I can only imagine the F BOMBS LOL, thanks man...And yea Ron, thanks very much to Rory for that last stretch of the walk to the sea wall, and I tell ya the more you fish the more you learn, it never ends. We will always find is a different approach to fishing. And Rory the ray sure was the last straw on my arms for big fish, but the wind was the last grain of rice to tip the scale.

Yep, white margate, that is a very nice catch for the bridge. I bet everyone thought you had the Ronco of all Roncos.

Re: Middle Keys Fishing Reports
This is the grunt of all grunts. All Margates are Grunts, and yes the correct name of this one is White Margate. In my fishing days we would always call these White Grunts. The internet is now screwing up all the local names
... In some areas they call it White Pork Fish.

Re: snapper on the chew
Looks like the snapper are on the chew this week. We have been doing good every night since monday. my wife and i kept 10 nice ones monday night and were back in by 10 pm.
went back by myself the next night and limited out fairly quick on the grovers. hooked a couple of small sharks that cut me off. tried for some muttons but they wouldnt bite for me so i left.
the next night my daughter came along and we limited again. she took her 5 and left with her son about 9pm then my wife and i stayed another hour or so and got the rest of the take for the night.
went back last night and caught 3 keepers one of which is a good 3-4 lbs lost 2 other large fish due to rocks and hooks.wifey got cold and we were back in before the tide changed.
sorry for the phone pics, we kept 12 inches and up
The wind has started to pick up but we will be trying them again tonight. some guy said he caught a 24 inch yellowtail at the base of the bridge but i think it was a small snook from what my wife told me. there has been alot of bait around but not close enough to net . luckly we had netted some fresh ballyhoo and finger mullet earlier when they were in close . also got some fresh caught pinners. which is what my biggest one bit on last night. the pin was 4-5 inches!!!. i think i had a keeper grouper to the top when the hook straightened!!!!. didn't get a light on him though so who knows, but there was head shaken that was consistent with a grouper.
hope these pics work from photo bucket
