why did you even need a free spool lever why not just loosen the drag ?

If you loosen the drag on conventional reel, it would be hard to set it back to the correct drag position when fish is on.

Just FYI guys.
After being happy with Makaira, I checked narrow-spool.

Look at freespool speed @5:08.

I am entertaining idea of 2 speed narrow spool (M-5N II) for vertical jigging.

I recently noticed the freespool lever on my penn 320 gt2 was sticking just before freespool, it seemed to be in freespool mode but I could still push the lever a bit more and hear the click to know...
