Ponce Inlet Report

Post by Beeracuda »

Alright fellas I know this reports kinda late but my buddy and I fished Ponce earlier this week.

Sunday 9/8/13
Fished from bout 11-830. There was a decent amount of mullet in the water. We fished the beach side of the jetty and landed a bunch of jacks and a sail cat using live mullet. I had something else take my bait, I fought it hard for about 15 mins and it finally busted my 50# flouro leader. My best guess is a shark but I'm no expert, I hope it wasn't a snook cuz I really wanted to land one! Aside from us I saw someone pull up a shark on the beach side and some reds on the inlet side.

Tuesday 9/10/13
Fished from bout 130-830. Mullet was kinda scarce. We got a jack and a nurse shark on the beach side and another shark on the inlet side. Didn't really see anyone else catch anything. We did meet a guy that fished the day before and he said he was catching the heck outta mangroves...figures I'd miss that day :(

I fished there all the time....went today...nothing. Did catch a couple reds in the past 2 weeks though.
I'm thinking of going late afternoon to dusk...haven't done that in years...might be better fishing at that time. I usually go mornings.
