Bull Shark found in murky Brevard Pond

Post by phino »

A 2- to 3-foot bull shark has turned up in the murky waters of a freshwater pond in Brevard County, floridatoday.com is reporting.

Yea that is nothing unusual

There have been bulls half way up the Mississippi river.

I think last year someone found some bulls in a pond on a golf course in Ft. Liquordale

Bulls can take a hell of a lot brackish water to fresh water. In Nica there is some island with a lake full of em

yeah, the question they have now is if someone put it there since the drain pipe is too small for it to get through according to them. i've seen them in brackish/fresh water before also. those are tough sharks! =D

In my humble opinion, it got washed in from the river when it was a tiny pup, then got stuck there in the pond and happily chomped away at abundant prey... This is very much it's normal habitat to a certain length / age. I do not see anything out of the ordinary here... Now if there was NO drain pipe, THEN i'd suspect foul play. I don't understand how so many people can believe in ghosts and bigfoot, yet normal every day things supported by science are seemingly unbelieveable! Either way, pretty cool, and I am glad that they are simply tossing him into the river as per FWC. I would LOVE to get a few minutes with it, pump its mouth with a hose till he throws up (they do, believe me) that way we can see if hes been there a while, or was tossed in there as per the conspiracy theorists.

I am 99.9% sure it was indeed a big bull with a big appetite. That being said though, I have seen a juvenile great white trapped in a tidal pond up in the cape. Was a pretty cool sight to be sure! I think there is a video on youtube somewhere... I saw something similar. I would not be surprised to see a Great White inland up that way, however feeding? I dont see that happening unless there is seals and cold O2 rich salt water in the river. (This excludes the Cape Cod Canal, conditions are perfect for them there.)
