Mystery Meat Catfish bait, Secret Recipe revealed!!!

This is a strange mix that I threw together to make an excellent catfish bait, at times this bait can be amazing. It does take a little bit of prep, takes about 20 minutes to make but last a long time and drives the cats wild if fished properly.

What you will need : 1 pound of hamburger, preferably with not a lot of fat. 1 12oz box of wheaties cereal, 12 packages of red koolaid,"MUST BE PACKETS, READY MIX WONT WORK!!! , some extra dry catfood, and some corn starch.

To Start out lay your meat out on a cutting board and then crush up the wheaties inside the bag with your hands. After crushing up the cereal pour about half the bag out onto the meat and begin squeazing it in with your hands. After that's mixed in try to use about 1/2 of what's left in the bag, you should have enough left for a couple bowls of cereal if you want. Keep working it until its mixed really well. Now, try flattening the hamburger back out onto the cutting board, and sprinkle a cup of dry catfood over it, and then work it into the mixture trying to keep it even just like you did the wheaties. After its mixed in pattie it back out again, and now you pour the koolaid all over it, the powder will turn the mixture bright red. It will also smell great!!! work the koolaid in evenly and try to keep it consistent.

Now for the tricky part, or the most important part, how could you get hamburger to stay on your hook, well you have thickened the mixture aleady but you need a little extra help, take some corn starch and sprinkle a light coat over the flatened out mixture. Don't want to use so much you can't mix it in, but a light powder coating will due. Work it into the mix with your hands and then roll the meat back into a ball, just for added effort slap a lil corn starch on the outside of the ball. Rub it around on it, and take the ball place it in a plastic bag and put it in the fridge, after it's chilled out your ready to go! Awesome bait, if fished right!

Soooo How to fish it??? I've only used this bait in places with no current such as lakes/ponds. Not tried it in current yet. I have had tremendous success witht this bait fishing the bottom. I use a 1/0 or 2/0 hook and tear off a piece of the meat about the size of the hook, just make sure you cover the hook and make a neat ball. Squeeze it onto your hook and cast out to the bottom. For some odd reason this stuff does not work when fished on a float, have tried it numerous times with not one bite. Also another key thing, do not use any sinkers or weight, the catfish pick this bait up and start to run with it, just watch your lines to start going out. I leave my spool free and just watch for the line to start screaming off, when you see this set the hook! I have tried it with sinkers and as soon as they feel the sinkers, they drop it!
