Bonita Springs or local area on 11th sept - 21st sept

Post by nicknwales »

From Wales in the UK
Coming to parents in Naples,Bonita Springs in September (11th-21st)
Over in the UK its usualy fishing off rocks or into beach's/estuary fishing with my long rods,worm/fish/crab bait with 3oz-7oz leads with 1-3 hook rigs....
Don't fancy bringing my beloved Zziplex through the airport or Kompressor or Tip Tornado which are my 3 cover all rods....
This year taken lure fishing which over here is fixed spool,20lb aprox braid,8' 20-50 grm rods fishing for European Bass....(the ever dwindling overfished only real fish to aim for!!!)
Lures are shallow diving, surface and flating diving generaly thin minnow type lures 100-150mm length aprox 18gms weight.......Otherwise soft stick baits or shads.
Not sure how far Ill get fishing but my Parents live Olde Meadowbrook Circle , Bonita Springs which is just by Estero Bay.
As It'll probably be my Lure kit Ill take anyway know if there any good fishing there or local and best aproach to take????
Would prefer to use what Ive got really......
Was also thinking any decent local guides not charging the earth....
Thanks for any replies...
Nick

So from everything Ive heard its mostly bait fishing over there?
Over here bait fishing will be with aprox 13' or 4 metre rods , 15lb(10kg) -30lb(13kg) test strain line with aprox 150grm lead sinkers with 1-3 hook rigs.
Is your fishing a lot different as I've asked my Dad who you would 'not' exactly call passionate about fishing and he seems to think eveyone just throws out a live bait and sits in there chair and chills out.
