FP OtB 7-25-11

Post by Bi0tic »

Conditions decided to hold out for me to get back in to my beach adventures and test out some new stuff. Get to the beach and the current is moving pretty good to the north but the surf is low albeit choppy, with a few good sets from time to time. Decide not to wait and plunge through a good set haha, yak handles it like a champ but I get soaked...no problem.

Out past there time to fire up the new GPS finally and it doesn't work! @#$%&! @^%* !!!!! Still can't catch a break here, but what can I do. The water is dirty, so much so that I can't see the bottom even in a few feet. Not the norm, but not necessarily a bad thing. Of course without my gps it makes my routine more guesswork than need be. So I start guessing and got lucky because within about 30 mins I strike gold on my new lure (not an xrap!):

I had some high hopes after that start but it wasn't meant to be since the rest of the day was pretty slow. Only managed a jack, margate, and spinner shark. I did lose 2 fish but no idea what they were. And yes, I did use the xrap for awhile but got shutout :(
