fishn wild shiners

Post by fishnRgolfn »

I've got a new spot in PB that looks great but have limited success with artificals mostly fish under 2lbs. :( With the water clear just noticed tonss of wild shiners in the water today. I've got to think there are some hawgs to be caught just need some info on how to catch the shiners and fish them. Any suggestions? I'd love the chance to post a pic of a 10lber with out the trip to Kissimee

Ok.This is a great way to catch them,i used to do this when i was young to catch bait. You take a large gatoraid jug,cut the top off about a quater of the way down, where the jug starts to get wider. Then you flip that isside the jug upside down,so it is inverted. The pressure will hold it in.Just put some bread and sit and wait.when you fill up remove it.....good luck

Sounds exactly like the minnow traps they sell at wally world. Should work perfectly. If nothing else youll catch small blue gill etc. Baits bait.
