Long Key 4/14

Fished Long Key yesterday, fishing was relatively slow. Got 2 nice muttons, 20 and 22." The 22" was a pig, it had some serious shoulders and weighed out at almost 8#. Bait du jour was cut grunts. Also got about a 4' lemon shark, a couple jacks and a couple of spanish macs. Weirdest thing was my friend catching a HUGE green moray (thing had to be at least 40 lbs) on a freelined grunt on a kingfish rig...we decided to break it off at the bridge as we didn't want to deal with it. The only picture I have right now is of my mutton, the smaller one, because my buddy took the bigger one home with him. Should get a few more pics from my friends camera soon.

Great report 8 lbs. is a nice mutton esp. if your not a dam boat cheater..lol.

Yeah someone jumped one me for my Tortugas trips .... When someone shows me fishing like that from a bridge I will be there til then will be a dam boat cheater..lol.

Indeed nice muttons. Long Key has been producing them now for two weeks straight.

Remember those two guys two weeks ago who couldnt stop catching them? He had some serious pigs when we showed up and a bunch more came over the rail in the AM.

Long Key was off for a while but glad to hear its back on.
