ive heard people talking about some things used to catch cudas? what tipe of bait is it used?

Colored surgical tubing about 1 - 2 foot long with an internal wire leader and several hooks ( normally treble hooks) They are for sale at most tackle shops but are easy enough to make if you know how to.

it is a long, kinda straw like lure with 1-2 treble hooks that has a nice swiming action.

I have found these hard to find at stores and nonexistant on the net.

PS: They dont just catch Cudas.

Cast out and reel in as fast as you can normally. It will be on top and look like a bally or needlefish fleeing. When the cudas as being really picky I let it sink then slowly twitch it back in like a jerk bait sometimes it does the trick.

I have eaten them before because some ''old timers'' said they were good. Just those under 5 lb's or so as Robbie pointed out. I tried one on a lark and they are excellent white meat no fishy flavor few bones once cleaned. Cooked them next to snapper and grouper and no one could tell the difference. I would eat them but only in the smaller sizes. Robbie is was an old guy off of Pompano pier a regukar think his name was Bob intresting nice guy haven't seen him in years, that told me to try them.

yo thanks guys. well in Cuba i used to eat alot of cudas. since i lived close to the coast, and i also went alot to a fishing village called La Panchita. There i eat alot of cudas and alot of good fish. i once eat one that my uncle got that was over 4ft long. they cut ir into slices and then fried them OMG soooo gooooodd! it was awsome man. best fish i ever had. seriously eeje... thats why im asking cuz i see alot of cudas under the bridge and so i want to catch one!,.
