a question about line

HEy guys...i was thinking about purchasing a senator 9/0 and was curious about the line size to use for land sharking on it. would that size be ok? or would bigger work beter. thanks

The 9/0 is standard and will work fine. If your just starting out, you could even look at a 6/0w or 4/0 wide, these might feel better in your hands.

couldnt have said it better And as far as line goes if your looking just for fun the go with something like Ande XXX Strength High Vis if you looking for some serious strength power pro and if your looking for records then you must use offical igfa fishing line[/quote]

Don't go lower than 50 or higher than 80 in my opnion.

You could put 100lb on it but you will need a pretty good belt

Probably to start out with though a 9/0 would be good....thats what we started out with about 2years ago..we used 60lb for a long time but then switched over to 100lb for different reasons....such as too long of fights if you hook a big fish...only bad thing is you will have less line cap.
but the 100lb is a little bit more money....but if your new to the sport 60 or 80 would be best

Go with 50 LB Berkley Big Game Line. If you are fishing from the shore with deep guts and areas your line will rub go with 60lb. The 9/0 reel is a 50lb class reel. I would much rather have a little extra line than extra pound strength. You could always use 50lb with a 100yd top shot of 80lb. I own a couple 9/0 and put 750 yds of 50lb line. I use 12/15 ft 480# leaders that are single starnd on the hook end and braid on the line end. Buy yourself a good belt and harness.
