Shark fishing after a storm.

Just wanted to see what every one thinks of the sharking after a tropical storm/hurricane.I have heard some mixed reviews on this topic.

Lets do this scientifically.....rough surf would push fish around ...any injuried , old, or sick fish would be at the mercy of the rough seas and wind up on or near the beach. ( After a big blow last year a 25 lb red grouper was washed up on the beach at Anglins) Sharks feed on the sick and injured. Sharks would be where the sick and injured fish are feeding on them.Sharks tend to feed in cloudy water as they can sneak up on prey better. Rough surf will have the water churned up and cloudy.The sick and injured fish that sharks feed on will be on or near the beach in the cloudy water sharks prefer to feed in. I say in thoery shark fishing would be good once the waves calm down a bit. I say you go and post a report when you get back.

Last big storm at Anglins with a tornado warning issue, I lost one big one and landed a large sand bar shark. The both shark ate half a piece of goggle eye. Fishnfool and Roofer where there as we huddle at the hut at the tee. The rain flew sideways and lighting like crazy. The waves were hitting the walking planks of the pier. It was a earry feeling on Anglins since it is still a wood pier with no concrete structure.

I was thinkong the sharking would be good after a storm.I am going on wed night as long as it isnt to rough to yak out bait.I will post a report after.

Your number 1 BOLO That was one of the worst storms I have ever been in on Anglins. It looked like a fire hose was being shot at the center hut. You couldn't stand outside of the end hut or you got shoved into the rails. The winds were over 60 mph out there far worse than Fay last night. It was impossible to have gotten off the pier that night until after the storm passed.

That night was fun. Everytime the lighting lite up the sky all you see is white caps of the waves coming at us. Almost like the movie The Perfect Storm. I was able to break in both rods and reels in.

I don't think I'll ever do that, considering that I don't know how to swim.

The waves were coming through the boards if it wasn't so awesome it might have been scary. Good times......watching BOLO get spooled , the look on his face as the fish took the line at will and never slowed down.

Roofer kept saying its was a big Cobia. After I get cut off we laughed, that cobia cut us off.
