Help

Post by FriskyMullet »

I know that you don't ask for people's spots but PLEASE CAN ANY ONE HELP ME! I am new to the shark fishing thing. I have caught a ton of tiny sharks like in the 1-3 ft range fishing off of colins and 32 and 25th. I want to catch or at least try to catch a nice 7-8ft shark but I don't have a kayak. Can anyone give me a spot that is decent for sharks and within casting distance. I don't need a honey hole just a spot where I may have a chance of landing one.

Any keys bridge?

I would assume you could fish from a large intracoastal bridge in or around port of miami?

Use a baloon rig. I like to use life savers candy!

Tie a short lite line from the hook area to the life savers use like 4-5 put the string thru the LS then tie a balloon to a string and string the other end thru the LS throw it out and after some time the ls will melt and release the baloon and your bait is in place!

Interesting tip. Thanks. I have fished the keys bridges but all that I have caught have been nurse shark (big ones but still nurse sharks) oh and I caught an atlantic sharp nose like 4 ft but I don't think I will be able to land a big shark off the bridge all I have is a diawa 400h. I did what BTH said and put like 700 yards of 50lbs pp but its still a 400h and I wouldn't have that much stopping power and I am afraid that I will get cut off on the pilings or the power line poles. What about dania beach or hollywood beach. Is it good around there. I read that inlets are supposed to be good.

Top off your 50lb PP with 20ft of 250lb PP so you can fight with a lot of drag and not worry about beening cut off or having a tailwhip.
