Pier / boat fishing rig $75 and under?

Anyone have any advice on a good pier fishing / boating combo rig for < $120 and under? My budget is an Amazon GC I have so if anyone can be of some help with Amazon specific advice it would be great. I've been fishing since I was a kid on spinning reels but never got past the basic 1 hook 1 sinker stock Walmart rig. I've read some similar posts from last year but would like to see if there is there are any current recommendations since prices change almost weekly sometimes. Thank you!

It's gonna be kinda tough to get one rod for both purposes since you usually would like a much longer rod for casting from a pier and a shorter, stouter rod to fight fish from a boat.

Just to clear a couple of things, my Gift Card balance on Amazon is $120 so around that range would be ideal. Also it has to be 2 piece. I'd like a size that can be halfway between the both of them (if there is such thing).

Best bang for the buck, I would say spend $80-$90 for the combo.

Use the remaining balance of the $120 amazon gift card to buy a tackle bag and a pair of fishing pliers.

I need two piece though. My car is too small and I like to keep my rod in the trunk sometimes for some last minute fishing.

Ugly stik and penn battle, Or shimano FX and penn battle...

Think I've decided on a battle 4000 with an ugly stik 7ft 2 piece. Also got some power pro 15/300 braids. Wish me luck!

alright combo, the reel is great but you wont want a two piece rod.

rinse it down after using it in the ocean, thats really about it. You dont need to do any maintenance to it yet.

Most small car could hold a 7'-8' rod easy,unless you have one of those "Smart" car,the rod goes in from behind the driver and the front part of the rod resting on the dashboard by the passenger side. Worse come to worse,drop the 60/40 backseat if your car have one and run section of the rod into the backtrunk.

Guy at basspro told me to tighten the drag before washing and to loosen it after it drys.
