Quick Guide to Fishing In Sebastian Inlet

Post by cudaman »

I have been asked before and was asked recently to provide information as far as what good times to go fishing, what gear, and what bait can work at Sebastian Inlet Jetties and near shore areas. In many reports of other fishing sites I have posted the same information, but as the years have passed some forum sites no longer exist or others have done upgrades loosing a lot of data. This day I was approached by a boatlessfishing.com forum member by the forum name of Chevy Juan he had the same questions so I realized it was too much to send over text and since this can help others I told him I would write the information on a blog post.
Juan I hope all this helps you and others. Thanks for asking me for advice.

Nice work, Herb Almost felt like yesterday when you told me we are going to SI. :thumleft: All we have to do is drive to SI when Joe is sleeping....Almost like pulling teeth when we were telling him we are going to SI and he is coming.

Let it rain all night and day..we will have the bridge for us only :biglaugh:

Thanks guys :toast:

linh and Peter go there, despite of a few thiefs the place always produces. If you don't want the crowds go to Wabasso beach area and cast artificials that look like mullets, dark colors work great or just fish for Permit and pompano and you will also catch sheepshead off the beach and might be rewarded with a nice snapper in between. All the beach areas around the inlet are great.

Yeap Nilson, you got my drum pics from that day? I think we all got some nice jacks too and Ricky lost a rod even though we kept our eyes opennned. What a coincidence we were talking to Joe about SI last night.

Let me look through all the pics and see what I got. I'm positive all pics i took of your fish were on your camera...if not, Ricky might have them.

Great piece Herb. The entire blog is super good reading for any Boatless member. Didn't need the pic of you in the speedo though lol
Those old queen slave owners that wrote our Constitution 200 years ago were brilliant.

Awesome... I have been patiently waiting and stocking up on hawks to go try my luck up in Sebastian as soon as those temps start dropping... I WANT a monster red on the hawk... OMG I can feel it now!

Thanks for the write up :toast: I'll be up there late November and it seems like there's no better time. I still have yet to catch a REAL red. Can't wait.

Good luck Juan, very hard to get a Red on a a Hawk, has happened but very hard.

You will get snook but harder when the temperatures drop too much. Other species like jacks and bluefish will not be a problem.

You're welcome Migs, you will catch them there. :toast:
