i made the molds for the heads...i explained how i did it in the last post

cant wait to try these guys out....eventually i wanna make a BIG one, ad see what will hit it

I recognize one of them from your article. Looks like you used a giveaway pen for the body on one; some pvc on another. How cool it will be to catch a fish on a lure you built yourself!

haha yea its a pen my mom or dad got and i made a lure from it.....i usually become distructive when im building things

It definitly a great feeling watching a fish hit a lure u made.....ive been making lures for about a year both fresh and salt water.....its an addicting offseason hobby. It also teaches you alot about fishes behaviors and how they think....also how most types of lures work and how to modify them to make em work better

post up some more ideas for these types of lure...i need to keep building

the angle is cut on a bandsaw.....the mold is simple its a peice of wood bored to the larger head diameter then another hole drilled inside for the neck diameter. I would gladly give a pic of the mold, but i have to smash the mold to get the cast out. Next time i make some ill take some pics of the whole process.

Maybe ill make a big one tmrw and post up some pics

in my opinion, you should put third hook in place of anal fin (like MirroLure lures have), macks, they strike exactly there first of all, gotcha with 3 hooks gonna be best lure ever, IMHO.

SCREAMINGDRAG not sure where you live but I have a couple of old castnets if you want them to cut out the lead weights they should be perfect to melt or use as is ....

Thanks Fishinfool, but i live up in NJ, so itll probably be not worth it to ship right now i just grab the old tire weights from tire shops

PBfisher- Haha read that post and was on my way to the home depot. Got some sheet aluminum to make some. I wasnt really thinking though, first its not a big enough gauge and it not haevy enough...aluminum....it will b ok though. Ill post what i come up with in a day or two

Repair- yea i gotta pick somethin up, the wood is gettin real old real fast. I have to make a new mold every time, it sucks...i dont no where id find aluminum bock metal anywhere other thn the net though??

Cant wait to get down to florida to really put some of this stuff to the test

When do you guys think the best time to come is may or june? I gotta come down again to look at FAU one more time.

damn theyre too expensive for what im doin....woods free

So anyway i got the wrong gauge sheet metal, so i went today to the home depot closer to me and they didnt have it. So ill have to go back to the other one in a day or so. I found the copper tacks, and some rivits but no riviter. heres what i came up with...keep in mind all hand bent, and done mostly by eye

Im convinced that the little guy will slay small size fish....maybe a smaller hook...cant wait to test

t almost impossidble without it....

well eventually i hope to. Not like sell them in a store, more like have them in a bucket on my cart to sell out on the pier for when a toothy mongrill cuts ya off you dont have to run down to the pier house when things are hot....i hate that

especially when u tied on ur last plug..

for now i make them because im completely bored and need something to keep my mind on fishing and off of my total lack of ability to do so

i just got a couple different gauges of aluminum, and i plan on milling the thick ones into some sort of lure when i get a blade for my bandsaw that will cut it, and making more spoons from the smaller gauge i got...

ill keep u posted

i just made one of those spoons with a cookie sheet. instead of using tacks i used a really long shank hook, moved the eye all the way up to the top hole, and put the splitring on both. the hook moves a little and clanks on the cookiesheet. cant wait to try it.

i was casting with it in my pool and it looks good. its kinda lite but it casts well. one thing is that it doesnt have that wobble action on the fall but it spins when you reel. it kinda spins too much and you end up with a lot of line twist. i just want a really exagerated wobble. any ideas?

try to flatten it out alittle....the more bananna shaped it is the more its gunna wanna spin..
