a quick call to FWC about an overloaded boat would have gotten that center console out of your hair...hard to tell from the picture...did the kids have PFD's on???

No, kids didn't have life jackets on...I wonder if they even had 9 PFDs aboard...

Fished incoming tide at channel 2 . Was pretty slow. Crap load of tarpon . Got rock by a big shark on a spinner rig. Didnt catch anything but the sun. Nice meeting Robbie and englishfisher.

Fri night had the tarpon as no shows. Wish you woulda responded to my post to let me know you were down there. I woulda come by just to say hi as I was staying 5 miles north of channel 2.

I saw your post but it was my Anniversary weekend. I have to send time with the chick. I didnt want her to think it was all fishing trip weekend.

I was bridge hoping at 2 and 5 on friday night with the chick. Nothing also except for the yoyo briagde. Does anyone know if Accurate make a yo-yo reel?

went to chanell 2 for a few days with some frends. i got a 4-5lb grover on a butterflied pinfish, noah got a keeper y tail, me and jamison both got some decent ceros and the poons were there all night both nights. we all got the usuall short and barely keeper g rovers. tj got a 22 inch black on a live pinfish after it was out for like 5 minuets.

Fished Ch 5 yesterday with my girlfriend and my buddy Charlie came too, right when we were getting set up Capt Tom from the forum passed by, he said the tarpon were thick further out and was going to get more crabs. We got set up around 9, fishing was slow at first until the tide changed, then Charlie got a 15 and 7/8" mutton that we had to throw back. I followed up with a mystery fish that grabbed a pinfish I had tight to the pilings and made a beeline to his hole, I couldn't stop him with my Penn 975.

Hooked up with the usual smattering of nurse sharks, none very big, and I hooked up with a kitchen table size stingray, I thought it would have been too big for shark bait so we didn't keep it...until we saw a freaking massive hammerhead cruise by...I'm being modest when I say this thing was 12-14 feet, it looked to be about 5-6 feet across the hammer. Charlie got some cool video of it and is going to put it on You-tube, I'll post the link when he does.

I had a nice wahoo carcass ballooned out on the 14/0 but Mr. T-head cruised right by it, and nothing else picked it up all day either.

The tarpon came out in the early evening, we drifted our last crabs and each jumped one, both around 60 lbs. There were some much bigger ones around though.

No grovers for us, but I wasn't really targetting them much, the guy next to us picked up a couple nice ones during the slack tide by freelining a glass minnow while he threw in a handful of unhooked ones as chum.

No idea how long the video is, we saw the shark for a minute or so, he was crusing pretty fast down the bridge and we ran to keep up with it, my buddy told me last night he should have it up some time today

There was one that we saw at Long Key 3 times over a 4 week period in Dec-Jan too, I think it was the same one b/c it was the same size and in the same spot. I hooked it once on a freelined jack, it lasted about 30 seconds before he broke me off on the power poles.

Great video.I kid you not i have seen even larger ones attack hooked blacktips right under where we were fishing on long Key bridge. We had one spool a 14/0 one afternoon on a 5ft green moray we were using for bait.A dozen more stories like that and still wanting to catch one from the bridge.Virtually impossible.SHARK CLUB RECORD from the bridges (Eddie Grosso) -1995- 12ft hammer,skinny maybe 475 lbs

The biggest ive seen was at long key, cudaman and rijkard were there, i say he was at least 9ft, how big do you think he was cudaman?
oh and by the way nice reel rory, i wanna see that thing scream this summer.

Yeah, I saw that same one that, that was the same time that guy you were with got the nice grouper, right? I would say it was about 9-10 ft. The one we saw last week could've eaten that one, when I first saw it it looked like a frikkin VW Bus swimming along the bridge.

yep we hung bluefish over the side and that t-head came right up to them, but wouldnt take the pitch bait, we tried and eel and bluefish, but a little small for his taste

I got one about 10' or bigger on 9/0 80lb mono 6' cable on a big bait took me about an hour to get him to the bridge.

I also think it was a 9 to 10 feet chunky hammer. Would have been nice to actually see it hit your baits.

Nice hog man. Yes, there are regs on tropical fish, angelfish have an 8" maximum, not sure of parrotfish, and you can't keep more then 20 per person / day (all tropicals combined, this includes porkfish, wrasses, etc.)

I am full of envy, it has been a while since I have had the chance to get down to the keys, hopefully my schedule will lighten up so I too can relish in the the Keys atmosphere.
